A popular pit stop en route to the cliffs nearby at Sliabh Liag - and a first stop for cruising folk arriving into Killybegs harbour - Stephanie Kee and Claire Keeney's cottagey harbourside café has been charming visitors to this bustling fishing port on the Wild Atlantic Way since 2015.
Small and friendly, with a delightful garden terrace overlooking the harbour as well cosy indoor seating, they're well known for their delicious breakfasts, weekend brunches, wholesome lunches and everything in between, including all-day seafood specials, great coffee, speciality teas and treats like freshly baked scones and cakes.
The style is appealingly simple but there's plenty of choice on menus that offer numerous tasty variations on favourite breakfast and brunch dishes - everything from the traditional Irish Breakfast in its many forms (including vegetarian) to pancakes or avocado toast - and then homemade soups, salads and freshly-made sandwiches, which are served all day. 'Ahoy Classics' include ever-popular steak sandwich and the house signature dish, crab burger and fries - while other popular dishes featuring the freshest of fish and seafood include haddock and chips, fresh crab and fish pie.
All round, it's just the spot to enjoy unpretentious, tasty food - with a glass of wine, or a local craft beer perhaps - and watch activities around the harbour, or cosy up beside the fire.
