Formerly La Taverna di Bacco and now known as Wallaces Tavern, this is a dark and atmospheric restaurant on the north quays, offering an interesting wine menu and simple Italian food, including good antipasti, unusual variations on risotto, handmade pasta dishes and really good coffees. Many regulars keep returning specifically for the pizza.
Very family friendly, with crayons and colouring books for children and quite an extensive, reasonably priced, children's menu.
This Dublin restaurants level of service can be uneven but it is well liked nevertheless, especially if you're lucky enough to get a window table, overlooking the Liffey.
