Sarah McNally must have the food market bug in her genes. As a child she was brought along to Temple Bar Market every week by her parents - stallholders Patrick and Jenny McNally, of the celebrated McNally Family Farm in north County Dublin - so it has always been like a second home to her. So what could be more natural than having a vision for an enterpise of her own there...
And so, in 2015, together with fellow food lover Liadain Kaminska, from Kilkenny, she launched the well named Market Kitchen at Temple Bar Market. A food stall with a difference, it's as seasonal as the McNally family's organic farm and everything is sourced from other stall holders who are proudly credited for the good foods they supply (see below).
Specialising in all day breakfast and gourmet toasties - made with the magnificent Le Levain bread and filled with a host of good things such as Corleggy cheese, Gubbeen oak-smoked cheese and Knockanore cheddar, finished with their famous mustard béchamel sauce - they've been among the most consistently popular stalwarts of the market - and the Irish street food scene - since the day of opening.
And, while they attend the Temple Bar Market every Saturday, you can enjoy their services at home or in other pop-up venues too.
