Seasonal and artisan produce are always the heroes on the casual dining menu at Gather restaurant in Tuam. Having pivoted to do takeaway, lifestyle and grocery goods during the pandemic, they then returned to opening as a restaurant 5 days a week with a smaller lifestyle and grocery presence.
Chef-proprietor Siobhan Flaherty has been here since opening in 2017 and has been joined in the kitchen by Head Chef Stevie Lane (ex Browne's in Tuam), David Finnerty (Sous Chef) and Pastry Chef Paula Gleeson. While there is a good choice of meat and fish options, it is the seasonal, vegan dishes which stand out.
It is particularly popular for weekend brunch, so it is wise to book ahead.
There is a carefully considered list of wines and craft beers as well as a range of hampers and carefully selected lifestyle products.
This well-named restaurant serves deliciously innovative locally sourced food in a warmly atmospheric setting, where family and friends can relax and enjoy good company.
