A real throw-back in time and refreshingly so: this entirely Italian-run restaurant has a classic Italian 70's interior with stained wooden floors and ceiling beams, Venetian trompe-l'oeil scenes on the walls and candlewax-dripped Chianti bottles on every table.
This Dublin restaurants food is also traditional Italian, with a menu that could easily date back to the Seventies too: old-fashioned favourites, like stuffed mushrooms and antipasto misto of Italian meats, are followed by classics like chicken breast with mushroom and white wine sauce, salmon with lemon butter sauce, pork with marsala sauce and a choice of pasta dishes and pizzas, with predictable but very typically Italian desserts such as banoffi, tiramisu and cassata as well as a selection of ice creams.
Consistently good food, with great service that is laid back but attentive - a perfect recipe for a popular neighbourhood restaurant.
