Brother and sister, Dermot and Hannah Ward, run this lovely little café and garden centre just outside Birr.
Hannah trained with Darina Allen at Ballymaloe Cookery School and that wholesome philosophy is seen in the delightful café, where the short menus are based on their own seasonal vegetables – and from other like-minded producers, such as Lough Boora Organic Farm and Coolnagrower Organic Farm – while the cheese in their delicious toasties comes from Mossfield Organic Farm and free-range rashers and sausages from Pigs on the Green, both nearby.
A super place for a daytime bite and the garden centre is the real deal too - well worth a browse.
