A sister property to The Morgan (Temple Bar) and The Beacon (Sandyford), this stylish contemporary hotel opened in March 2001 as the Clarion IFSC and was our Business Hotel of the Year in 2002.

It was the first in the area to be built specifically for the  'city' district and, not only has it since met the needs of business guests and the financial community admirably but, as the development around it has matured, it has earned a reputation as a chic leisure destination for city breaks.

Bright, airy and spacious, it is designed in a style that is refreshingly clean-lined yet comfortable, with lots of gentle neutrals and a somewhat eastern feel that is emphasised by the food philosophy of the hotel - the aptly named 'East' restaurant features Asian cooking, although a look at the Suppliers list will show that it is underpinned by the best of local produce.

Uncluttered bedrooms - many of which overlook the River Liffey - have bespoke furniture, plenty of desk space and many facilities to appeal to the security- and style-conscious traveller, whether on business or leisure, including 24-hour room service and free WiFi. Generous semi-orthopaedic beds, good linen and bright bathrooms with power showers and bath and White Company toiletries are among the details that add to the sense of thoughtful planning that attaches to every aspect of the hotel.

Leisure facilities, in the basement, are excellent and include an 18m pool, a large, well-equipped gym and spa. (Open to membership as well as residents' use). While this is not a place for huge conferences, there is a wide range of rooms for meetings of anything between 8 and 155 people, theatre style, with state-of-the art facilities - and it is also a place for fun (Cocktail Bar with live music at night) and a place with a romantic side, offering civil ceremonies for those who like the idea of a chic urban setting for their big day.
