Founded in 2009, Davy Uprichard makes Tempted? Irish Craft Cider from a blend of the finest Co. Armagh dessert and Bramley apples using traditional farmhouse methods to produce a lightly carbonated pure juice cider.
Some of the juice is bottled and sold straightaway as DJ’s Juice, but the rest is left to ferment and become cider. The cider is made in a purpose-built cidery at his home outside Lisburn and the business now involves the whole family.
Four different ciders are made: Medium Dry, Medium Sweet, Special Reserve and Strawberry. In 2012, Davy won the Gold Award in the Cider Category at the National Irish Food Awards for the Strawberry Cider.
Tempted? Cider is sold all year round and they also take a stand at various beer and cider festivals around Ireland; check the website for details.
