Jim Ryan is rightly is proud of the Ryan’s Farm track record as ‘suppliers of farm fresh food since 1928’, but there is nothing old-fashioned about their business.
Believing the way forward for Irish farmers is to deal with customers directly, Ryan’s Farm is known for the quality of the fresh beef, lamb, pork (including sausages and black and white pudding) and free range chicken that they supply directly to hotels and restaurants - and also to the public, through their own farm shop and the cheerful mobile food unit that they take to farmers’ markets and food fairs in the east of Ireland.
Ryan’s Farm is also one of the founding members of the Meath Food Trail, which was established by the Headfort Arms Hotel in 2013. They have created an innovative ‘Meath Food Trail Package’ to involve visitors to the area in its excellent artisan produce, with tours offered by members such as Kilbeg Dairy Delights and Boyne Valley Goats Cheese as well as Ryan’s Farm.
