Centrally located on Letterkenny's busy main street, Brendan McGlynn's long established tea rooms have been pleasing local people in search of a nice cup of tea and a 'quiet moment' since 1994.
There have been plenty of extensions and refurbishments since then but the esentials have remained unchanged and, behind the cheerful frontage, you can be sure of finding friendly staff and good homemade food.
The interior is nicely old fashioned and welcoming and - especially if you're lucky enough to get a table by the window - the comings and goings will provide plenty of entertainment. People of all ages home in on The Quiet Moment - couples, families and teenagers all come here to catch up and enjoy the food, giving a great sense of being at the hub of the local community.
There's a really good selection of hot main courses, sandwiches, baked potates and baguettes, and you can choose your own fillings. A kids' menu, healthy options and daily specials are all available, and you can order in advance to take away too.
Homemade tray bakes and scones are the speciality and there's a good selection of desserts too - but you might also be tempted by the all day breakfast, which is very fresh and appealing...
With such friendly and efficient staff, good food and a homely appeal, it's not hard to see why The Quiet Moment is always busy.
