Well known for many years through her involvement with the Avoca restaurants - she was a major contributor to their cookbooks and head chef at Kilmacanogue, Powerscourt and Suffolk Street as well as setting up the café in Rathcoole - Eimer Rainsford now runs this ‘boutique cookery school’ in Sandymount.
The idea is that students attend Supperclubs, which are classes for private groups of eight friends or colleagues who choose the theme for the evening, watch the demonstrations and then, as Eimer puts it “sit back, feast and enjoy the wonderful food prepared with a glass of wine.”
An extensive range of themes is offered - such as Easy Entertaining for Cautious (or Adventurous) Chef; Stylish Thai and Indian; Deep Sea Kitchen (Fish and Seafood); Stylish Seasonal Party Bites - or you can discuss ideas for something different.
It’s a very sociable way of learning, and there may sometimes be availability for an individual to join a group if a booking has been made for less than eight students.
