Younger sister to Nicholas Lynch’s well known fish shop in Ashbourne Co Meath, NicksFish Newbridge was opened in 2010 and offers the same high standards of seafood and service.
Nick, a former fisherman himself, sources much of the fresh fish directly from fishermen and the range offered is huge, with anything up to fifty varieties of local and imported fish and shellfish on sale on any one day, including lobster from an in-store tank - and there is plenty of advice on hand from knowledgeable and well trained staff.
As well as fresh fish and seafood, Nicks Fish produce a range of ready meals, including fish pies, chowders and fish cakes, that are on sale at both of their shops, along with sauces and seasonings to simplify fish cookery for customers.
They also sell a selection of organic and artisan products from Ireland and abroad including cheeses from Sheridan’s Cheesemongers, organic wine, rape seed and olive oil, pasta and pasta sauces.
An environmentally aware supplier, Nick supports fishery management and is careful to source quality seafood that is “free of preservatives, sulphates, growth hormones and chemicals”.
