Mac Ivors is a handcrafted cider made from apples grown on a family orchard in the Orchard County.
Using only the best apples from the orchards, Greg MacNeice set to work and, after many trial blends, he created two distinct and perfectly balanced ciders: Mac Ivors Medium (fresh and fruity); and Mac Ivors Traditional Dry (full bodied and complex), which took silver at the International Brewing Awards 2013 - and, more recently, collected a gold medal and the Champion Cider title at the 2015 awards.
A recent addition to the range is Mac Ivors Plum & Ginger, a blend of their Medium cider with plum and ginger juice, producing a delightful rosé colour with delicate bubbles.
The family-owned and run company became the first Irish cider producer to win a gold medal in this prestigious event for its Traditional Dry Cider (5.6% ABV).
Mac Ivors ciders are all made using 100% fresh-pressed apples and cold-fermenting yeast to preserve the aroma. Greg uses dessert apples for fruit and sweetness, Bramleys for acidity and cider apples for flavour and tannin.
No sales on site, but check the website for a list of stockists throughout Ireland, both North and South. Mac Ivors ciders are also sold throughout in the UK, Finland and Germany.
