Open since spring 2020, chef Maggie Roche’s delightful smart-casual West Wicklow café, Little Acorn, not only survived the pandemic’s many challenges but it is thriving.
Maggie, a returning local whose CV includes many top kitchens - notably the Roux family’s iconic UK restaurant, The Waterside - brings fine dining skills to this welcoming community café and, while very grounded, her simple dishes based on carefully selected local and seasonal ingredients have real finesse.
Multi-layered flavours and attention to detail transform everything - a pancake, a taco, Sunday roast or just a ‘simple’ sandwich - into something memorable.
