A rather grand staircase leads to a large traditionally furnished lounge area on the first floor, with views of the grounds and courtyard and well-grouped seating areas; it's a pleasant place for afternoon tea and informal socialising - there is a pianist at certain times - and resident guests have the quieter option of a new residents' lounge.
Conference and business events are well catered for, with conference and meeting rooms of various sizes available, and it is a deservedly popular venue for weddings particularly in the original house.
Bedrooms, which are sumptuously decorated in a traditional style, include a number of suites and some with four-poster beds, and have everything required for business guests as well as the more usual amenities.
Good informal food is offered in the Oak & Anvil and The Larkspur Lounge, while the beautifully appointed main restaurant, The Pippin Tree, offers formal dining on Friday and Saturday night and breakfast is also served here daily.
