Situated on the outskirts of the university town of Maynooth, and only 20 minutes from Dublin city centre, this large hotel may well surprise the visitor and it very successfully meets local demand for essential facilities covering a wide range of events - conferences, corporate events and weddings - as well as providing extensive leisure facilities.
An impressive entrance leads into a well-furnished and comfortable lobby where check-in is facilitated easily, thanks to pleasant and helpful staff who provide essential information on the hotel’s amenities. And these are extensive, particularly the very well-used leisure centre, which attracts members from a wide area. Here, everyone is catered for, both adults and children – there are two 20 metre pools with one exclusively for families - and there is a salon, 'Glenroyal Beauty', which offers a range of treatments.
The comfortable contemporary bedrooms are pleasingly furnished and have good sized en-suite bathroom and everything the traveller needs, including a safe, workspace, wifi, ironing and tea and coffee making facilities.
The extensive banqueting facilities attract a lot of weddings and the hotel is approved to host civil weddings and partnerships - in fact, the Glenroyal was the first hotel in Kildare to host a civil wedding ceremony.
Conference and business facilities are the best in a wide area; the highly regarded conference centre, which was relatively recently added, includes five syndicate suites and all meeting rooms have natural daylight.
Breakfast, lunch and evening dinner are available in the new Arkle Bar, an attractive and comfortable room where efficient and knowledgeable staff are on hand to ensure an enjoyable experience.
Also part of the Glenroyal complex but independently operated, Shoda Market Café (see entry) offers daytime food Mon-Sun.
