Based in the historic village of Glenarm since1989, the Northern Salmon Company produces high quality Glenarm Organic Salmon in the fast flowing sea water off the Antrim coast and is the only Atlantic salmon producer in the Irish Sea.
The salmon of choice for many top chefs, it has achieved widespread recognition in Ireland and is successfully exported to discerning customers abroad, who appreciate its superior flavour and texture - and also support responsible and sustainable aquaculture.
The company produces up to 500 tonnes of organic salmon annually and is committed to meeting, and if possible exceeding, the rigorous standards set by the Organic Food Federation. Priority is given to the health and welfare of the fish, and to the long term protection of the environment - and the result is an outstanding product.
All year supply is achieved by stocking the company’s on-growing farms in the fast flowing waters of Glenarm Bay and Red Bay with different generations of organically reared smolts, all sourced in Ireland.
The exposed location, cold water and strong currents are ideal for the health of the fish, which develop the good muscle tone necessary for firm textured fish.
