Denotes genuine Irish food culture, ie special Irish food products/companies/producers, and highlights the best places to shop for regional and artisan foods; the selection excludes obvious 'non-Irish' elements regardless of quality, eg ethnic restaurants and specialists in coffee, wine and other drinks, unless relevant to local production or history. Eat & Stay establishments are chosen for their commitment to showcasing local produce and Irish hospitality.

Formerly The Tasty Tart, chef Tara Walker's renamed her popular business the East Coast Cookery School in 2014.

Tara, who trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, offers a range of cookery classes from her purpose-built kitchen in this attractive seaside village.

Tara runs both hands-on and demonstration classes in a fun, informal home atmosphere, where participants can relax with a glass of wine and see how dishes come together. She can also create a bespoke class or demo for private groups and is particularly well known for her Foods of North Africa and the Middle East class.

Tara also carries a small range of speciality foods, such as harissa, preserved lemons and couscous, so that participants can easily buy some of the more hard-to-find ingredients from the classes and make the dishes at home.

Tara teaches at the Irish Countrywomen’s Association headquarters in An Grianan and at the Fairyhouse Cookery School in County Meath as well, and is available for catering work.
