Located in one of Cork city's most iconic buildings - dating back to1820 and home to the Dwyer family's legendary manufacturing business that employed thousands at its peak - Dwyers of Cork is now an atmospheric big gastropub, popular for its live music, good food and great craic.
Formerly the upmarket Rachel's Restaurant, it re-emerged following a closure as a much more casual spot. Billed as a vintage gastropub, there's memorabilia a-plenty to set the scene - but the menu is not at all pretentious and it's none the worse for that.
Brunch is a big draw, especially at weekends, offering many of the brunch classics (especially waffles and pancakes) but also dishes that say 'lunch' like Chicken Caesar.
On the evening menu crispy chicken wings are a staple, also burgers and fish ’n chips, but dishes are well cooked and well presented - as you’d expect in an area that's well known for quality casual dining.
And when you’re finished eating in the evening, it can be fun to hang around to enjoy the live music and a drink or two at the long bar.
