Dermot and Anna Smyth's exceptionally comfortable guesthouse is just a few minutes walk from the town centre and has long been a favourite with discerning visitors to the area. It is a fine period house set in lovely gardens, and there is also a particularly pleasant and comfortable residents' drawing room, with an open fire and plenty to read.
The house is immaculately maintained, with a programme of ongoing refurbishment in place. Bedrooms - which inevitably vary in size and character due to the age of the building - are comfortable and stylishly furnished with a mixture of antiques and fitted furniture, as well as direct dial phones, tea/coffee trays and television, and thoughtfully designed, well-finished bathrooms.
Standards are consistently high and very good breakfasts are served in a handsome conservatory (complete with a large vine) overlooking the peaceful back garden.
