Opened in 2017, the Avoca at Dunboyne is the 12th store and the largest in the group to date, with 35,000 square feet of retail space. Located only 10 minutes from the M50, just off the M3 motorway, it’s easily accessible to Dubliners looking for an afternoon outing away from the city and is a fantastic addition for Meath locals.
The farm-to-fork theme of this store is evident as soon as you walk past the brightly painted tractors at the entrance, complete with a silo in the centre of the retail space.
The offering at Dunboyne comprises a retail store, food market and garden centre as well as the self-service Fork Café, a pizza van and the kitchen garden and terrace. There is also an events space for hire, which comfortably accommodates 50 people, perfect for meetings, weddings and birthday parties.
In the food market you’ll find Avoca to-go meals, fresh fruit and veg, a butcher, bakery, deli and salad bar, cheese and charcuterie counter as well as Poulet Bonne Femme Rotisserie, Nature’s Gold Health Foods, Mitchell and Son Wines, Kish Fish, Sprout and Co. Kitchen and Artisan Quality Foods.
The self-service Fork Café offers all the usual Avoca staples that customers know and love from the other restaurants, but with the added bonus here that much of the produce on the plate can be measured in footsteps, not food miles. The café has its own kitchen garden on site, complete with a seating terrace alongside so that you can sit right next to your ingredients – farm to fork doesn’t get much more up close and personal than this. There’s also a food truck outside cranking out wood-fired pizzas from Wednesday to Sunday.
The Avoca at Dunboyne is their most ambitious store to date, but it still bears all the now-familiar hallmarks of this beloved Irish brand, including a dedication to quality and Irish provenance.
