Although primarily a charming summer spot for traditional Afternoon Tea or a locally-flavoured daytime bite to eat (including their own home grown produce), Cathleen Connole's restaurant just off the Burren Waymarked Walk also offers packed lunches for walkers - and her daughter Karen, who is involved with the business here part-time, gives guided walks.

Another side of their business is a range of speciality hampers, including artisan produce such as Burren Smokehouse smoked salmon, Doolin Jams and Burren Gold cheese - as well as wines, some with an Irish connection; the house wine is the highly regarded additive-free Galway Bay Wine produced in the Languedoc area of France by Cathleen's brother, Noel O'Loughlen.

Noel and Cathleen's son, John, also produce their Pinnacle Burren Gin (named after a nearby well and flavoured with local botanicals, including seaweed) which features at their wine tasting events, along with a delicious selection of local and other artisan Irish foods.

A fascinating and most unusual business, Burren Fine Wine and Food is all about sustainable tourism and it is always a pleasure to visit.
