Gwen Fearon and Orlaigh Callaghan, the dynamic duo behind this aptly named business, have received many accolades for their enterprise including two from the local Chamber of Commerce.
Respect for artisan producers and local suppliers informs everything they do, both at the original Stockwell Lane premises - with its outstanding grocery-deli and café next door - and the newer café-restaurant in the north quay area.
The wide range of interesting quality foods they stock includes some local ones that are not easily found, such as Derrycamma rapeseed oil and Mossfield cheeses, and they also make their own range of products. Not surprisingly perhaps, these too have won acclaim. In 2009, for example, their Port Berry conserve won a Gold Star at the Great Taste Awards, with their Strawberry and Black Pepper Jam repeating the honour the following year.
Originality go hand in hand with craftsmanship at Stockwell, and the results are consistently outstanding. Two must-visit destinations when visiting Drogheda.
