Dunmore East, Co. Waterford

Dunmore East (Dún Mór in Irish) is a small village in County Waterford, it is located on the west side of Waterford Harbour and is a popular tourist and fishing village.

One of Ireland’s leading resorts, Dunmore East is a beautiful spot just 16km (10 miles) south of the city of Waterford, where land and sea link and where health and pleasure pursuits have attracted thousands of holiday makers. Ideal for families, the list of things to do is endless.

Beaches As well as being located right on its own sandy beach, Dunmore East is located just a 15 minute drive from Tramore, one of Ireland’s largest beaches. In addition there are several magnificent coves in Dunmore East including Badger’s Cove and Ladies Cove.

Golf The local course, Dunmore East Golf and Country Club is heaven to play with its panoramic views of the village, bay and Hook Peninsula. This course offers challenging golf to players of all abilities. Waterford’s golf courses offer a delightful mix of link and parkland courses. In addition you can choose from seven other courses in the area including Tramore, Faithlegg, Waterford Castle, Dungarvan Golf Club, Gold Coast Golf and Leisure, and West Waterford Golf and Country Club

Tramore Fun Park Adjoining the beach, Tramore’s fun park is perfect for children – featuring the Big Dipper, stomach churning rides in high speed roller coasters, dare devil bumpers, boating lake, a miniature railway and much more – guaranteeing hours of fun for the young and young at heart.

Walking There are many picturesque walking routes surrounding the village, most notable are being the several forest walks which are a haven of peace and tranquility. The cliff top park is another option for leisurely walks or for something more exerting – a trip to the beautiful Comeragh Mountains.

Waterford City Waterford the oldest city in Ireland offers sophisticated shops, malls, vibrant nightlife and an excellent range of restaurants and pubs.

Tours and Sightseeing Within a 20 minute drive of Dunmore East are many beautiful gardens such as Mount Congreve. The lovely Curraghmore Estate and Gardens are just 16km (12 miles) away and historical County Wexford is just a short distance away via the ferry service from Passage East.
