Rathfarnham Castle (353 1 495 1101) is well worth a visit if you are in the area. The Castle has a rich, colourful history, which dates back to 1583 when a Yorkshire man Adam Loftus built it. Loftus later became Archbishop of Dublin and Lord Chancellor of Ireland.
