Cliffoney (Irish: Cliafuine) is a tranquil village in County Sligo, 25km (15 miles) from Sligo town and 8km (5 miles) south of Bundoran County Donegal.
Cliffoney is set at the foot of the Benbulben and Benwhisken Mountains overlooking Donegal Bay and Mullaghmore Harbour.
Surrounded by sea and mountains, the area includes a series of interesting sites for visitors such as the Gleniff Horseshoe, Creevykeel Court Tomb and Bunduff Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary which has an abundance of over-wintering birds.
The Cloonerco Bogs which stretch across the Cliffoney landscape are of particular significance to flora and fauna enthusiasts. The area is very popular with artists due to the ever changing scenery here.
Cliffoney appeals to anglers with plentiful salmon and trout, whilst hillwalkers, divers, surfers and pony trekkers are also well catered for in the area.
