Brilliantly located near Queen’s University, the Botanic Gardens and the Ulster Museum, Melanie Harrison’s haven for culturally curious travellers brought something different and a touch of quirky grandeur to Belfast stays when it opened in 2020.

Dating back to 1879, the handsome homes of several wealthy merchants have been combined to offer Bridgerton-inspired style at this unusual adult-only destination.

Rooms range from the sumptuous Aristocrats with bay windows and feature baths to quirky Gallivanter Rooms to Bohemian small doubles for solo travellers – all named after famous people with a Belfast connection, including Jonathan Swift, CS Lewis, Percy French and Samuel Beckett, which adds interest in itself.

Continental breakfast is served in-room and, while dinner is not offered, the city centre is only a pleasant 15-minute walk and there are good restaurants nearby. Melanie and her friendly staff will advise on dining and everything else needed for a memorable stay.
