Beautifully located on the Mourne Coastal Route, this handsome 19th century house is nestled on the south-facing shore of Carlingford Lough just outside Warrenpoint in Co Down. It was designed by the Newry architect WJ Barre, whose best-known buildings include The Ulster Hall in Belfast, and now - set in large gardens and with views across across to the Cooley Mountains and the peaks of Slieve Foye - it makes a gorgeous B&B.
Hospitality veterans Khris Veldman and Jason Foody previously ran a lovely B&B in Co Donegal and, when they decided to move east, it's not hard to see why this special light-filled place with its big bay windows, high ceilings and period fireplaces had to be the one for them.
Having started welcoming guests in 2021, word of mouth and repeat visits quickly brought a steady trickle of happy customers drawn by the lovely location, the house itself and - most of all - the warm hospitality and good food offered at breakfast by Khris (the main host) and often Jason too.
Even better, Sennen House is a work in progress - and, not only are Khris and Jason constantly working on the house itself to provide more rooms (two now have lough views), but there's also a characterful old stable and coach house at the back that's full of promise...
