Datiung back to 19333 and now in its fourth generation of ownership, the O'Sullivans' long-established family-run bar lays claim to serving the most southerly pint in Ireland - and many a visitor continues to enjoy notching up that unique experience on their holiday log.
A particular favourite with sailing folk who enjoy keeping an eye on the boats at anchor, it's in an attractive location right on the harbour at Crookhaven, with tables beside the water - and when it's not too busy, it can be heaven on a sunny day.
Currently run by Dermot O’Sullivan and his wife Linda (supported by daughters Katie and Alex), all of the food served in the bar is freshly prepared: homemade soups and chowders, baskets of shrimps (in summer) with home-made brown bread and butter, open sandwiches (fresh local crab, smoked salmon, fresh salmon, roast beef), home-baked scones with jam & cream, and a range of classic desserts like apple & rhubarb crumble and crème brulée - all made on the premises.
There's live music, 3 times weekly in summer, and a more formal dining experience is offered next door at Nottage's Restaurant (see entry), where they also cater for groups by arrangement.
