What was once a forgettable little roadhouse on the N1 is now a snazzy new gastropub that has breathed new life into this stretch of road in Julianstown.
And it’s not hard to see why it’s so popular. The interior is bright and eclectic, with its mix of shiny black metro tiles, mismatched wooden chairs and a big roof light over the centrally placed bar, it's bustling and friendly - and the food delivers in spades.
There is a range of menu options, from midweek lunch or smaller bites in the bar to the main restaurant menu, and local suppliers are proudly name checked.
You might want to try one of their specialty flatbreads, with tempting combinations like pulled pork, candied apple and cucumber salad; goats’ cheese, toasted pine nuts and honey; or spiced lamb with coriander, mint and pomegranate.
For something heartier on a cold day, mains like crispy pork belly with spiced red cabbage and Stagrennan apple caramel, slow-cooked shank of Wicklow lamb with pearl barley or smoked haddock risotto with a poached egg would hit the spot.
