Convenient to both Galway city centre and Galway Airport and easy to find, this four star hotel is well located for business and leisure guests and, with Galway Race Course and Rosshill Golf Course very close by (and a good choice of other golf courses within a short distance), it is an especially attractive destination for sports lovers.
An impressive entrance sets the tone for bright, spacious and well-appointed public areas which include the aptly-named Enclosure Bar and Tribes Restaurant, and – while all bedrooms have features such as underfloor heating, pillow-topped mattresses and plasma screens as standard - business guests in particular will be well looked after in the fourth floor executive accommodation, which includes a private executive lounge and a presidential suite with great views, a sheltered terrace and large sitting room with entertainment systems.
Conference and business facilities include a very large ballroom/conference venue with natural daylight, which is designed for versatility; meeting rooms equipped for boardroom meetings, presentations and video conferencing have everything required including high definition plasma screens, wifi, and audio-visual equipment.
It's also a popular hotel for weddings and family events and - although the internal geography is somewhat complicated, with rooms in two separate blocks (which could be better signed) - rooms are spacious and families should be very comfortable. Room only bookings are the norm but a good breakfast is served in Tribes restaurant, on the first floor.
The underground carpark is a bonus, especially in wet weather, and the public areas (and some rooms) can be accessed directly from it by lift.
