Built around an 18th-century Merchant Prince’s residence, The Montenotte Hotel sits high over the city in a fashionable residential area and, with an eclectic vibe and a sense of fun, this modern 4-star offers a pleasing alternative to city centre accommodation.

The trump card may be the view over Cork city, but beautiful gardens, pampering and leisure facilities, a quiet location and ease of parking are also highly persuasive.

The smart, well-designed bedrooms all offer excellent in-room facilities including flat screen television, tea & coffee facilities and complimentary wi-fi, while the executive rooms and suites have an extra touch of luxury. Alternatively, the 26 Residence self-catering apartments are especially suitable for long term corporate guests.

Set inside the original mansion, the Bellevue Spa and Style Suite offers treatments, while the Motion Leisure Centre has a gym, 20m swimming pool, sauna and - under normal conditions - a steam room and Jacuzzi.

There's pride of place in all aspects of the hotel, and that includes the seriously tasty food served at this Cork hotels aptly named Panorama Bistro & Terrace. Extending onto a heated botanical terrace for well spaced al fresco dining and drinks and enjoying magnificent views over Cork city, this is a popular dining destination for Corkonians, as well as a boon for guests. All meals are served in this attractive bar and restaurant area including breakfast, which starts unusually early - ideal for business guests.

Additionally, from summer 2021, a spectacular Rooftop Bar offers hotel residents a special place to enjoy stylish cocktails and the hotel’s bespoke botanical gin while watching the sun setting over Cork city and harbour.

Few hotels offer an in-house cinema but the Cameo Cinema has daily screenings that include Art House Cinema and new releases; although offering just 16 seats for residents only while government restrictions apply, it is normally a 50-seater and available to residents and non-residents.

Another USP that no other hotel in the city can rival is a recently-discovered sunken Victorian Garden, which has been restored to its original glory and now provides a tranquil aromatic space to relax mind and body.

All round The Montenotte has become a very desirable destination with amenities that are second to none - and well deserved recent recognition includes the title of Cork Hotel of the Year 2020, awarded by the Cork Business Association.
