Scenically located in a private courtyard on the banks of the River Nore in the heart of the medieval city of Kilkenny, and with magnificent views of the city's 12th-century Kilkenny Castle, this Kilkenny hotels  within walking distance of the main shopping areas, theatres, entertainment, tourist attractions and Kilkenny’s Medieval Mile, which are all on the doorstep.

Some of the elegantly furnished and very comfortable guestrooms overlook the River Nore and some have stunning views of Kilkenny Castle - and all are stylishly decorated in soft relaxing tones, the beds made up with with crisp white linens for a restful night’s sleep.

The hotel is a renowned dining destination and guests can choose between the Riverside Restaurant (see below) and Riverview Bar, which offers al fresco causal dining in summer - the terrace, situated directly alongside the river, has unrivalled views of the Castle and is hugely popular with locals and hotel residents. During the day and early evening, a good bistro-style menu is served here and Afternoon Tea is also available. Served in the bar and residents lounge ín the colder months and on the terrace during the summer, finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, macaroons and fruit cake are just some of the treats.

The hotel hosts weddings, corporate events and special family occasions, and the dining room at a recently restored historic building, The Bridge House (which has 12 bedrooms), is also available for private venue hire.

The Riverside Restaurant

With impressive views across the river to the Castle, this aptly named restaurant takes full advantage of its setting and the atmosphere is that of a restaurant rather than a hotel dining room. With ceiling to floor windows, beautifully appointed tables and comfortable high-backed chairs, this is an elegant room in which to dine. The good food served includes a wide ranging breakfast and charming service adds to the occasion.

***The Kilkenny River Court Hotel is part of Neville Hotels, a family owned and managed Irish company, with five hotels located in Dublin, Wicklow, Kilkenny, Wexford and Waterford.
