A welcome arrival on the main street of Annagry in the spring of 2021, Time and Tide quickly made a name for itself serving what its many fans claim to be the best coffee in West Donegal.
The newly refurbished building presents a smart face to the world and inside it is bright and airy, with bursts of colour from the bright textiles and crafts displayed around the shop.
The chef and manager at this delightful little coffee shop and deli is Sarah Jane Browne and - as one of only five chefs selected nationwide for inaugural first BIM ‘Taste the Atlantic Young Chef Ambassador’ programme in 2021 - she has attracted plenty of well deserved attention to the village.
While the menu is not extensive, its small but delicious selection of toasties, homemade cakes and coffee has earned a loyal following - and so has the friendly and efficient service.
Many of the sweet treats that are so well designed to accompany the excellent coffee are also vegan and / or gluten free. Cakes are made in house, with some also bought in from local baker, Cacai Aoibhin, and the sourdough bread is sourced from the excellent Belles Kitchen in Rathmullan (see entry).
It's the perfect place to pop into when heading to one of the many, stunning beaches nearby in this beautiful Gaeltacht region, to collect one of Sarah's famed cinnamon swirls and a locally roasted ‘New Kid’ coffee.
