Lough Allen Hotel & Suites

First sight of this contemporary hotel may not be especially impressive, but the bright and interesting interior begins to win you over from the moment you step into the foyer - an attractive area with appealing modern sofas and armchairs and a welcoming collection of striking modern paintings.



Glazed doors at the far end allow a tantalising glimpse through to a high-ceilinged bar which has a clear lake view, and a deck and trendy little tables and chairs outside for fine weather. The setting is romantic for a wedding and, in addition to wedding blessings being a possibility here, nearby choices for the marriage ceremony include a delightful old-world church in Drumshanbo.



This wedding venues got a wedding planning service available and the hotel is able to offer quite a comprehensive service, including special transport for the bride and groom, and a piper (or other preferred choice) to welcome arriving guests. The drinks reception can be held outdoors, weather permitting - a big plus as the waterside setting and views of the surrounding countryside are the trump card at this hotel.



The wedding banquet is usually served in the Moorlands Suite, a function room with its own entrance and reception area, but smaller wedding parties can have use of Rushes Restaurant, which seats about 90; the food has always been good here, and menus are attractively priced.



Guest accommodation is spacious and very comfortable - rooms are furnished in an understated, disciplined modern style that allows views of the lough (or Sliabh an Iiarann mountain) to take pride of place, and visitors new to the area will find it an interesting place to explore, so it is worth considering staying here for an extra day or two here after the wedding.
