Blessed with one of Ireland’s most beautiful locations, on the shores of Lough Eske, the Gysling family’s hotel is in a setting reminiscent of their native Switzerland - a dramatic backdrop for those who opt to arrive by helicopter or boat. It’s a wonderful area to explore and anyone travelling here for the first time would be well advised to stay on a day or two - the hotel can organise a two or three day programme for wedding guests if required.
For the marriage ceremony, there’s a selection of churches to choose from locally, and wedding blessings can also be arranged in this lovely waterside setting which also offers plenty of romantic options for photography.
Exclusive use of the hotel as a wedding venues not possible, but receptions are held in a choice of two dedicated suites, where tables can be arranged to seat 350 people and there are panoramic views over the lake from every table - with excellent cooking from head chef Franck Pasquier and his team to match. Recent changes have made it a far more luxurious hotel and, although children are welcome as part of the wedding party, bedrooms and the hotel overall are not suited to children.
Accommodation includes forty very spacious rooms in a new block, but some guests may prefer the older rooms - which are tucked away in front of the extension, along the ground floor corridor: although less luxurious, they allow a sense of being close to nature and have access to the shores of the lough.
