The FitzGibbon family’s fine establishment in the historic town of Youghal offers a unique combination of characterful bars, a warmly decorated restaurant (where the reception is held) and stylish individually decorated rooms that make it a lovely wedding venues, and one which the Irish men in the party are certain to find especially congenial.
FitzGibbon family members (third generation) are at work everywhere, ensuring a happy visit for every customer - John, who manages front of house, somehow manages to be in two bars at once; brother David is the chef, and cooks up wonderful local seafood dishes for both bars and the restaurant - and their hospitable wives make sure everything runs smoothly both back and front of house.
Although they don’t offer a wedding planning service, the Aherne’s approach to weddings is very individual and flexible, so virtually anything you’d like can be arranged - and they offer good value too.
