National Museum of Ireland - Archaeology

First opened in 1890 the National Museum of Ireland for Archaeology is the national repository for all archaeological objects found in Ireland and home to over two million artefacts dating from 7,000BC to the 20th Century exhibited in seven galleries.



It is home to iconic artefacts such as the Ardagh Chalice, the Tara Brooch and the Derrynaflan Hoard, plus the Faddan More Psalter exhibition.

Opening Time:

Open year round, except 25 Dec & Good Fri. Open Tue-Sat 10am-5pm & Sun 2pm-5pm. Closed Mon (including bank hols)
