Win a Short Break for Two at Carrig Country House

Carrig Country House & Restaurant

This month you have a great opportunity to win a revitalising break for two, in the lovely Carrig Country House & Restaurant, which is set amongst the lakes and mountains of the Ring of Kerry, renowned for their beauty and the exhilarating range of activities to be enjoyed in the area.

The Slattery family - Frank and Mary with their daughter, Claire - run this sensitively extended Victorian hunting lodge with warmth and hands-on hospitality, and - set in fine gardens (which are mapped), with the lake and mountains providing a dramatic backdrop - it’s the perfect hideaway.

This is a place where you can lose yourself for hours with a book, or playing chess, cards or board games in the games room, or boating out on the lake…It has inviting sitting rooms where you can chat beside the fire or have a drink before or after enjoying an excellent dinner in the beautifully situated Lakeside Restaurant, where the best of local ingredients - especially fresh Kerry seafood and Kerry mountain lamb - are proudly showcased, and an outstanding breakfast is also served. Dinner here is a highlight of any visit to this atmospheric Blue Book property and non-residents are also welcome by reservation.

All of the seventeen bedrooms and suites are furnished with antiques, some have panoramic views across the lake to the Magillicuddy Reeks, and some are on the ground floor with their own patios. Carrig House makes a wonderful base for exploring this stunning county: Skellig Michael, the Killarney National Park and the Dingle Peninsula make memorable days out and, with hiking, biking, SUP, golf and horseriding all nearby, active holidaymakers will be in heaven.

Full of relaxed atmosphere and charm, Carrig House is a very special place.

The lucky winner of this free competition will have a short break for two people sharing (subject to availability), to include:
•   2 nights accommodation
•   Cooked to order Full Irish breakfast on both mornings
•   A delicious dinner for two people in the wonderful Lakeside Restaurant on one night
