With spacious ensuite bedrooms these houses are ideal for groups of friends or families looking to get away for a relaxing break. Both children and adults will enjoy the wild-flower garden that surrounds the houses, and which attracts a whole range of butterflies during the summer. From the houses, you can join the private nature trail that runs alongside the Yellow River before following the outskirts of the farm for 1.5km.
Kitchens fitted out in light oak have local Mourne Granite worktops and all the modern conveniences, including a dishwasher, oven , microwave and food processor, plus washing machine and dryer. The cosy sitting rooms (Owenabwee has a large open fire, whilst Carnaclasha has a Jotul wood-burning stove) are comfortably furnsihed with deep sofas and chairs.
Warmly carpeted bedrooms, offer a combination of 2 twin rooms and 1 room with a double and a single bed. The twin beds are zip-linked, so they can also make king size beds. Each bedroom offers privacy and space, with remote controlled television, chairs and plenty of storage space in large built in wardrobes; cots and high chairs are available on request.
Rostrevor is conveniently located, only 60 minutes from Belfast and under 90 minutes from Dublin. The surrounding area is renowned for its natural beauty and has plenty of activities to offer, from the famous Royal County Down Links golf-course only 20 minutes drive away, to the popular Mourne Seafood Cookery School in Kilkeel, where you can learn to cook local produce under the tutelage of some of Ireland’s top chefs.
On-site, Rostrevor Holidays has a tennis court and playground, and the houses have barbeque and picnic facilities for those fine summer days.
They also work alongside the East Coast Adventure Centre, who provide all sorts of activities from Seal-watching safaris, to Slieve Donard guided walks, or for the more adventurous, how about trying out wet-bouldering in the Mournes, or Sea-Kayaking in Carlingford Lough?
If the need for some retail therapy should come over guests, Newry City is only a 20 minute drive, and The Outlet designer discount centre is only half an hour away.
The local area is brimming with places to see and discover, from the colours of the trees in Kilbroney Forest Park in the autumn, through to the magnificent views from Cloc Mor. Rostrevor is a lovely spot and it's hard to imagine a pleasanter place to base yourself,to explore one iof Ireland's most beautiful areas.
