The restaurants of Temple Bar have perhaps had more than their fair share of criticism and our next award-winner is living proof that it is possible to offer both quality and value in this much-maligned part of the city: Ireland’s first Vietnamese restaurant is in a simple room in Cope Street and has been open since 2004. It is earning a loyal following among discerning diners who appreciate the freshness of flavour and authenticity of the cooking, the willing, helpful staff - and the sheer good value that is offered. The head chef, Anh Le, comes here from the 5* Hanoi Horizon Hotel, and guests blessed with culinary curiosity will find much to reward them in the more unusual dishes - including a fish casserole house speciality, Ca Kho To.
