What do you mean ‘smart-casual dining’ I hear you say… Well it’s the way people so often describe The Glass Curtain and once you’ve been there yourself you’ll see why. There’s no stopping them on MacCurtain Street - now earning its place as the food street of Cork - and there’s a brilliant choice of new places to eat and socialise here these days, but it was the arrival of returning chef Brian Murray’s creation The Glass Curtain in 2019 that confirmed the ‘VQ’ (Victorian Quarter) - and especially MacCurtain Street - as the city's hottest food destination. Seasonal local produce 'cooked with love and a little fire' was the promise from the start, and it’s one that Chef Murray and his team have been delivering very successfully here - in the glass-fronted Thompsons building, where much of the city’s bread was once baked - to the delight of their ever-growing fan base. Taking the best of local produce, including some less usual cuts, Murray uses his wide-ranging experience and cooks with relish. The ambience, cooking and informed, friendly service are terrific, they do a mean cocktail - and it’s good value too. No wonder everyone loves it.
