Enjoy the spectacular sight of Hot Air Balloons flying over the beautiful countryside surrounding Birr. During the Balloon Festival week, visitors to Birr can experience a real festival atmosphere and participate in:

Walking in the nearby Slieve Bloom Mountains.
Cruising on the River Shannon from Banagher.
Horse riding at Birr Equestrian Centre.
Discover Ireland's largest gardens and Historic Science Centre at Birr Castle Demesne.
Explore the beautiful Georgian town of Birr on the Birr Town Trail Guided tour.
Entertainment at Birr Theatre
Visit Birr Library and discover the world famous McGregol Gospel or join in storytelling in one of the best children's libraries in the country.
