Crag Cave - Garden Restaurant

A short distance east of Tralee, this limestone show cave is one of Kerry’s biggest attractions - and not only is it a wonderful outing for families, but it is weatherproof too.

The million year-old limestone cave is a treasure trove of dramatically lit stalactites and stalagmites and, regardless of age, a visit to see these would be enough on its own.

However, the Cave Centre has been ingeniously developed to offer much more, including an impressive children’s indoor adventure centre, a large gift shop – and a very pleasant restaurant offering good home cooking in attractive surroundings.

The Garden Restaurant offers an appealing range of freshly prepared light lunches, and also snacks throughout the day. You can eat in the main restaurant or the adjacent Conservatory - or, on colder days, you might be lucky enough to get a space near the fire in the entrance area.

Even if you aren't visiting the cave, this is a useful place to know about for a tasty meal or a snack - the baking is particularly good and, with parking at the door, it's a handy spot for a cuppa and a slice of cake, or a freshly baked scone with jam and cream.

Garden Restaurant : Seats 50 (outdoors, 50). Food served daily 11am-5pm (from 10am Sun). Children welcome (high chair, childrens menu, baby changing facilities); toilets, restaurant & visitor centre wheelchair accessible; air conditioning; free broadband wifi. Closed Mon & Tue in Jan & Feb.
