Ballyvolane House
Country houses do tend to make a speciality of breakfast, and this year’s country house breakfast award winners, Ballyvolane House, are a class act: they don’t have a huge number of rooms, so don’t expect the kind of big buffet display that some of the larger houses do so well – but what they do is delicious, and all the details are right. Lots of lovely fresh juice, fresh and poached fruits, good yogurt and “whatever you like” cooked to order – including irresistible Caherbeg sausages. Yummy.
